First, a review of the second book NOTHING REMAINS AS IS. A overgrown, jealous and extraordinarily violent Australian man wants to take Christoph to the afterlife in the tropical rainforest. Fortunately, nothing is broken and healed to some extent, Christoph works on a diving boat in Cairns until his visa expires. After a long-distance phone call to Germany, Christoph flies to New Delhi to track down his India-obsessed brother Ralf in Jaipur. A few days later, on the passenger boat from Bombay to Goa, the two brothers meet two Swedish women, with whom they travel to Kerala in southern India. Highly satisfied with their new lodgings in Kochi, Christoph and his companion Marie-Louise, who is the same age as him, want to eat something after their exertions, but after their disgusting candlelight dinner they fall into a coma that lasts for days. Shortly after their release from the hospital, the two brothers are already sitting in the overcrowded train to the north, because Ralf cannot postpone his Nepal mission. Now, after two days on the rails, and not too far from the Nepalese border, Christoph is robbed in his sleep.

It’s a disaster, Christoph has nothing left, just what he’s still wearing! With the financial support of his older brother Ralf, who has to travel on to Kathmandu on the same day, Christoph makes it to West Berlin and has a whole two weeks until his two short-term landlords return from their holiday in Greece. It takes excellent contacts, a well-stocked wallet and a lot of luck, but what did the fortune teller in Perth, Western Australia, say again? Christoph is to be put to a tough test in a faraway place? She had also foreseen dark forces and sinister demons, and a lot of shit did indeed happen in India – but it’s a lot further from Australia to Germany!
